Valentine's Day can come with a lot of pressure. We want to look good, feel good, and love on all those special people in our life. But, often we forget to take a minute for ourselves. Moms especially are so often putting everyone before themselves, that taking a moment to practice some self care is pushed to very last on our list of priorities.
Our partner in our Valentine's Day Contest, Thomas & Co. Fascial and Stretch Therapy, has shared with us ways they encourage their clients to practice self-care daily, not just when you are starting to feel run down. They encourage a 3-prong approach to self care -mind, body, and spirit.
For the next 3 days we will share these self-care tips to remind you how important it is to take one minute to make sure you are feeling good.
Small ways to support your mind
1. Take time each day to practice a mini meditation. Take a minute to become aware of your thoughts, feelings, and sensations. Follow up with a minute of focusing on your breathing, and finally a minute of being aware of your body as a whole.
2. Go electronic free for 30 minutes or an hour before bed. Unplugging from all devices allows your body and brain to slow down before bed. This is a great time to practice your meditation, take a warm bath, or read a book.
Check back tomorrow for some inspiration on supporting your body. Plus, don't forget to enter our contest for the massage give away before Tuesday! You won't regret it!
