Next Sunday you will find us in Downtown Frederick at the Birth and Babies Fair and we couldn't be more excited. The Birthing Circle is a local non-profit that supports moms in our community with a variety of awesome services. Part of their awesome work is putting on an amazing Birth and Babies Fair where expectant moms and new families can come and learn about the exciting opportunities for them in Frederick. (The Birthing Circle also have an awesome active Facebook page for peer to peer support you should absolutely join if you haven't already.) Here are some things we are looking forward to next week!
Celebrating Moms- We know just how amazing birth can be and we think moms are worth celebrating. This time in a moms life and the fact that you can have a csection, a natural birth hospital or medicated birth...it's birth and it deserves a party. This is an entire event dedicated to birth and babies and whether you are expecting, or just had a baby, or just love community you should come.
Community - Speaking of community, as doulas and moms we know we are so lucky to be living in a place that puts so much value and respect on moms and their choices. Next week you will see all sorts of people (moms, birth workers, community members) who may have different philosophies on birth, but are all passionate about supporting this time in a woman's life. The fair is a great way to get to meet some people you may have seen online or through social media and want to check out in person...hopefully we are one of those because we have some awesome opportunities for those that stop by.
Giveaways and Swag- The Birthing Circle has lined up some awesome swag if you happen to grab one of their early tickets. (Check here.) Lots of vendors will have some awesome giveaways and prizes including us. We are giving away two family portrait sessions and you can enter simply by stopping by and saying hi!
Mr. Jon and Friends- He is a local favorite and if you tell your elementary schooler or toddler Mr. Jon and Friends will be there, they might be dragging you out the door. We are excited to be the sponsors for this fun part of the event.
Seeing all the bellies and babies-- Yep that is a given, but seeing all the expecting moms and new little ones from our community is the best. We can't wait to see some old faces and meet some new ones too.
Don't forget! October 1st starting at 12pm along Carroll Creek! Parking garage near the library is extra convenient so walk, run, stroller over and say hi!
