The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of births, fun, fellowship, and lots of behind the scenes work. Coming off of the birth and babies fair with renewed inspiration from all the strong moms we met, we dove headfirst into our next season.
We hinted over the summer that our team was continuing to grow and if you haven't heard yet, one of our very own strong moms has joined our team as a Postpartum Doula! Mary Neubauer is everything that FMD aims to embody - empowering, empathetic, nurturing, and STRONG!
Mary describes in her own words below, why becoming a post-partum doula was so important to her. You can also read Mary's birth story here, chronicling her experience and journey that ultimately led her down this path. We know Mary is going to do wonderful things in this role, and we are blessed to have her as part of our FMD team and family.
As a mom of two and a NICU mom, I've found that having a village of support is critical to surviving those tough new baby days. Whether a first time mom or a seasoned mom, postpartum days can be so long and isolating. I was drawn to work closely with moms in postpartum after my own dark struggle with postpartum depression. It took me a while to find the right footing, and landed with Frederick Moms and Doulas who's values and passions align with mine. I'm passionate about serving the community in which I live, and serving my fellow moms is a big part of my heart.
