Frederick Favorites for the Holidays

December 8, 2017

During the holiday season Frederick is bustling with fun things to do with your family. Here are a few of our favorite kid friendly activities for you and your little ones. We love them so much we might even see you at one!

Join the Kris Kringle Procession- This Frederick tradition involves the whole community. Grab some extra blankets and head to this classic parade that celebrates the arrival of St. Nicholas down on Market Street. But don't miss it! This event begins at 6pm in Downtown Frederick...tonight!

Head to the streets for December Saturdays- Did you know every Saturday in December downtown Frederick is dotted with hot cocoa and s'mores stations for you to enjoy. Check out the shops and restaurants with your family while warming up with hot cocoa. A free Trolley circles every few minutes for you to enjoy as well. This year is even more fun with a scavenger hunt on December 16th! You can check it all out here.

Take a walk along Carroll Creek- This year there are boats all along Carroll Creek that are part of the winter display. If you have a mover and a shaker that needs to get out some energy, this is a perfect place to go with holiday spirit and no need to sit still.

Enjoy Breakfast with Santa- A holiday tradition, there are opportunities each weekend for families to have Breakfast with Santa. Local fire departments, Adventure Park USA and Way Off Broadway all have wonderful options to work with your families schedule.

Catch a Show- Frederick has a busting theatre community that is welcoming to kids and their families. Both the Weinberg and Way Off Broadway offer holiday classics including the Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol and Christmas Cottage. Tickets range in price and can be purchased online.

And of course, we always love giving back with our kids during the holidays. Participate in our Bundle All the Babies event by dropping off warm blankets and jackets and help local families in need. Check out the full details here
